Attorney Joseph Weiland is an associate of Bentz Law Firm, P.C. A member of the Allegheny County Bar Association, Mr. Weiland first joined the firm as a law clerk while studying at the University of Pittsburgh School of Law. Shortly after graduation, he accepted an offer as an associate of the firm. Mr. Weiland's field of expertise developed through his work with several start-up companies in the Pittsburgh area. Under the supervision of local incubator Thrill Mill, he provided free legal consultation to various small businesses in the fields of contract management, patents, and information technology.
At Bentz Law Firm, P.C., Mr. Weiland's repertoire has expanded to include legal work in the fields of construction, municipal, and surety law. Currently Mr. Weiland is focused on these areas as well as corporate and business law. As an associate, he is responsible for assisting in larger, high profile cases by preparing motions, pleadings, and pretrial discoveries.
Prior to joining Bentz Law Firm, P.C., Mr. Weiland received a Dean's scholarship at Pitt Law based on his accomplishments as a scholar and Division III athlete. As a member of the Pitt Law society, Mr. Weiland received recognition through negotiation competitions and business-related competitions hosted by the law school. Prior to attending law school, he completed two degrees at the University of Washington and Jefferson including a Bachelor of Science in Political Science and a Bachelor of Arts in Economics. He also received a scholarship for his achievements and earned the prestigious honor of Scholar Athlete four years in a row.
